Veganuary is upon us once more and in the last year we seem to have been spoilt for choice for products which are both gluten free and vegan. When you’re already avoiding gluten, it can seem tricky to know where to start when trying to find vegan goodies to eat. Especially as a lot of meat replacements are made solely from gluten – my worst nightmare!
So to make life a little easier, here are more than 30 gluten free and vegan foods in UK supermarkets to get you started this Veganuary…
White Rabbit gluten free and vegan pizzas
I am a HUGE fan of White Rabbit pizzas and their gluten free vegan pizzas are as good as their non-vegan ones! The Smokin’ Vegan one is delicious with smoked vegan cheese and chargrilled peppers, while The Vegan Gardener has a lovely combination of kale, pesto and sundried tomatoes. Found in Sainsbury’s.
Mrs Crimbles vegan and gluten free macaroons
This vegan version of the classic Mrs Crimbles chocolate chocolate macaroons launched into Tesco in November – perfect for fixing those sweet cravings.
Sainsbury’s gluten free and vegan mousses
Choose from chocolate or strawberry when it comes to these new(ish) mousse pots from Sainsbury’s. Found in the chilled free from aisle and they’re gluten free and vegan.
Wicked Kitchen spinach and wild garlic ravioli
Despite not advertising it boldly on the front of the pack, read the ingredients on the back of this vegan ravioli to find it’s actually made with gluten free pasta, woohoo!
Morrisons Moo-zarella sticks
If you’re craving cheese the gluten free ‘moo-zarella’ sticks fro Morrisons are coated in a gluten free crumb, so are perfect for a snack during Veganuary.
M&S Plant Kitchen Not-zzarella sticks
And why not try the M&S not-zzarella sticks for comparison too? These are also gluten free and vegan – though for info they do say they may contain traces of milk.
Wicked Kitchen pots
Great for an ‘on-the-go’ snack or lunch option – they ready meal pots from Tesco are simple to use. Just add water for a tasty gluten free and vegan snack with minimal effort.
Like Meat vegan products
Like Meat have a whole range in the Tesco chilled aisle and these are some of my favourites! It’s all gluten free and I’m particularly fond of the nuggets and schnitzel which have a gluten free crumb too.
No Moo strawberry cones
These strawberry and vanilla cones are a great option for a vegan and gluten free dessert. They’re pretty tasty and I honest don’t think you’d notice the difference from a dairy ice-cream!
Clive’s gluten free vegan nut roast
I found this Clive’s vegan nut roast in Waitrose’s and Morrisons’ frozen aisles and it’s also gluten free and organic. It was really tasty and definitely something I’d enjoy over meat with a roast dinner any day!
Sainsbury’s gluten free and vegan apple crumbles
These gluten free and vegan apple crumbles are in the chilled aisle in Sainsbury’s and look like a lovely treat. These would definitely be a great pudding after a vegan roast dinner!
Asda vegan low-cal jelly
Asda is the only place so far I’ve spotted these cute little jelly pots which are vegan and gluten free. Helpful for if you get a random jelly craving mid-Veganuary!
Good Live vegan falafel
These vegan falafel from Good Life (bought frozen from Sainsbury’s) are delicious! They’re great for lunches and would be fab with salad and a vegan yoghurt dressing.
Jubel beer
Obviously I couldn’t not shout out my favourite gluten free beer, Jubel, who are also vegan and offset all their emissions. Plus they’re plastic free. And delicious!!
Northern Block vegan ice-cream
You can buy Northern Bloc’s vegan ice-cream in Co-op and it’s absolutely delicious. Probably my favourite dairy free ice-cream out there, and definitely worth the spend.
Kirsty’s gluten and dairy free apple pie
This luxury apple pie from Kirsty’s is absolutely delicious. It’s gluten free and vegan – and you’d never even know! You can pick it up in the frozen free from aisle in Asda.
Feed Me Vegan cheesecake
This mango cheesecake I found in the frozen Tesco aisle sounds lovely – a mango cheesecake which is gluten free and vegan. Perfect for a dessert treat!
Deliciously Ella’s ready meal range
If you’re lacking meal inspiration and just want something quick, this frozen range of ready meals by Deliciously Ella is perfect. They’re all gluten free and vegan – find them in Tesco.
Gü gluten free vegan cheesecake pots
Worried about missing out on fun gluten free desserts during Veganuary? You don’t have to be! These gluten free cheesecake pots from Gü taste incredible and you’d never know they were dairy free either.
Gluten free and vegan puff pastry
You can still make the most of gluten free baking too – this Jus-rol gluten free puff pastry is suitable for vegans. It means you’ll be able to whip up all sorts of tasty treats, both sweet and savoury.
Kirsty’s gluten free and vegan pizza
My worst fear about a vegan diet is how I would replace all the pizza currently in my life, but this gluten free and vegan pizza from Kirsty’s is delicious and would definitely get me through! In Asda.
Sacla vegan white sauce and vegan bolognese sauce
Lasagnas are saved thanks to these vegan sauces from Sacla. The vegan white sauce and vegan bolognese sauce are both gluten free and sound like tasty alternatives for an easy dinner.
M&S gluten free spring rolls
Hurrah, my favourite gluten free spring rolls are vegan too I never realised this but it turns out the M&S gluten free spring rolls are safe for a vegan diet as well.
Gluten free and vegan whipped cream
Just in case you’re worried you’ll miss out whipped cream, this gluten free and vegan version is in both Asda and Morrisons’ free from aisles. Problem solved.
Tideford vegan gravy
I found this vegan gravy from Tideford (which is gluten free) in Sainsbury’s. It was initially with the seasonal foods but seems to have now taken up residence with the vegetarian chilled items – and it’s gluten free!
New York Bakery Co gluten free bagels
Did you know both the New York Bakery Co’s gluten free bagels (seeded and original) are vegan too? All you need now is some vegan cream cheese and breakfast is basically sorted for the whole of January!
Yorica ice-cream
Yorica ice-cream is found in Waitrose and is gluten free and vegan! They do lots of different flavours and it’s one of my favourite dairy-free ice-creams out there, so worth stocking up on if you’re a fan!
Clive’s gluten free and vegan tart
Clive’s do a number of gluten free and vegan tarts and pies (found in Waitrose and Ocado) but this one with kale, lentils and cranberry just sounds lovely. Something a bit different for your gluten free and vegan dinner!
The Meatless Farm Co products
The Meatless Farm Co can be found in Sainsburys and their range is gluten free, including these vegan sausages, vegan mince and vegan burgers.
Plant Pioneers Jackfruit
I’m certainly intrigued to try these jackfruit products from Sainsbury’s Plant Pioneers range. The sweet and smoky jackfruit sounds fab and I love the sound of the shawarma too.
Moving Mountains plant-based hot dogs
These Moving Mountains plant-based hot dogs are new in the frozen free from aisle in Sainsbury’s and are gluten free. Just be aware the other products in this range are not.
