I was pleasantly surprised to find a load of gluten free Christmas foods in Lidl this week, so thought I’d give you a bit of an overview.
My gluten free supermarket guides are always really popular at Christmas and I love showcasing all the free from goodies I find.
A lot of the ‘mainstream’ products are actually gluten free as standard now – and bargain supermarkets Lidl and Aldi are really good for this!
I always used to discount them thinking I wouldn’t be able to eat anything but actually that’s not the case at all.
During a quick race up and down the aisles in Lidl I discovered a tonne of yummy gluten free goodies and many of them cheaper than the other supermarkets.
So I decided to do a bit of a round-up for anyone heading off on a last-minute shopping trip this Christmas.

Deluxe Three Bird Roast
I was surprised by how many of the meat joints in Lidl were made with gluten free stuffing – though check the ingredients list as some are not.
Also none of them are marked ‘GF’ on the front but they do list ‘gluten free stuffing’ in the ingredients and no gluten at all!
This three-bird roast features turkey, duck and chicken and looks lovely.
Stuffed turkey breast joint
This turkey breast joint also has a gluten free stuffing and is wrapped in bacon.
It would make a fab centrepiece for Christmas dinner if you want an easy turkey option.
Chicken crown with stuffing
If you prefer chicken to turkey or want a smaller option then there’s also this stuffed chicken crown.
This was in the chilled aisle and features a winter fruit stuffing and smoked bacon, yummy.
Pork hog roast
I never think to have pork at Christmas but this stuffed pork shoulder just sounds incredible.
Am tempted to go back and find this and keep it aside for a New Year’s Day roast.
Frozen stuffed turkey breast
I also found this stuffed turkey breast in the frozen aisle which serves eight people.
It has both a pork and sage and a winter fruit stuffing and sounds yummy.
Deluxe Festive Stuffing Wreath
If you’re looking for a festive centrepiece to wow your guests then this is it!
This festive stuffing centrepiece has orange and cranberries and is topped with streaky bacon and caramelised orange slices. Yum!
Pork, orange and whisky stuffing parcels
Well don’t these sound fancy! Little stuffing parcels with honey and scotch whisky and topped with slices of candied orange.
And yes – according to Coeliac UK whisky is in fact gluten free, so get stocking up.
Sage and onion stuffing balls
You just can’t beat sage and onion stuffing in my opinion, and if you’re like me you’ll be pleased to know these are gluten free.
These are something I’ll be grabbing a few of for the freezer so I can enjoy them with roast dinners during the winter months!
Pork Cocktail Sausages
Lidl has two types of ‘plain’ pork cocktail sausages that I could find – both of which are gluten free.
These would be worth stocking the freezer with as it seems to be hard to find gluten free ones any other time of year.
Chicken, Chorizo and Manchego Cocktail Sausages
Sometimes it can be hard to find gluten free cocktail sausages so it’s even more exciting when you find flavoured ones like this!
I picked up a pack of these to try as I love both chorizo and manchego so I cannot wait to tuck in.
Cranberry and Camembert Sausages
Generally I’m sold on anything which involves camembert but these sausages in particular sound amazing.
I think these would be lovely in a festive gluten free bap when making a ‘proper’ dinner feels like too much effort.
Turkey, beef and vegan gravy
All three of these gravies were in the chilled aisle and the vegan, turkey and beef gravies are all gluten free.
A handy one to have in stock if you don’t want to make your own.
Gluten and dairy free mince pies
I cam across these gluten and dairy free mince pies a couple of weeks ago but they didn’t have any left the last time I went in.
Hopefully you’ll have more luck in your Lidl – so keep your eyes open!
