I absolutely love grazing on gluten free party food when it comes to the holidays. Christmas for me is all about the beige food, leftovers and ‘picky bits’.

And these Honey and Mustard Cocktail Sausages are absolutely perfect. Not only are they ridiculously easy to make, you can eat them hot or cold.

Which means if you have a bowl in the fridge, it’s dangerously easy to keep grabbing a cocktail sausage or two every time you go past.

Using gluten free cocktail sausages makes these a great gluten free Christmas party food or festive appetiser option that everyone can enjoy.

Sometimes simplicity is best when it comes to party food and cocktail sausages with honey and mustard might be my new favourite buffet food. I prefer them to pigs in blankets!

They’re the perfect mix of sweet and savoury, and I’ve included an oven and air fryer method so you can cook them however you like.

Serve them up for a gluten free party food buffet alongside my Christmas Sausage Rolls, Bacon and Halloumi Bites and gluten free blinis.

Ingredients

You only need 3 ingredients for these honey and mustard glazed cocktail sausages (plus a pinch of salt!):

  • Cocktail Sausages: Not all cocktail sausages are gluten free so be sure to double check before buying. You can also check out the Christmas supermarket guides on my gluten free Christmas page to see what’s available before heading to the shops.
  • Wholegrain Mustard: Usually this is gluten free but always double check. You could use dijon mustard if you don’t like the whole mustards seeds.
  • Honey: A runny honey adds the sweetness to these honey and mustard sausages and makes them all sticky and delicious!

How to Make Honey Mustard Cocktail Sausages

Here are some step-by-step photos to show you how to make honey mustard cocktail sausages in the air fryer and the oven.

Add the honey and mustard to a bowl and mix together well. Add the cocktail sausages and mix until they are fully coated.

To cook the cocktail sausages in the oven:

Preheat the oven to 200C / Fan 180C / Gas Mark 6. Pour the sausages onto a non-stick baking tray and spread them out evenly.

Place in the oven and roast for 20 minutes, turning half way through, until they are brown and cooked through.

To cook the cocktail sausages in the air fryer:

Pour the sausages straight into the air fryer basket (I used a silicone liner to help with the washing up!).

Air fry at 180C (356F) for 15-18 minutes, tossing half way through, until they are brown and cooked through.

Storing and Freezing

These honey mustard cocktail sausages can be eaten hot or cold. To eat hot, serve them straight away along with cocktail sticks for easy picking.

For any leftovers, let them cool completely and keep them in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can reheat them or enjoy them cold!

You could also freeze these honey mustard sausages once cooked and just defrost and reheat thoroughly before eating.

  1. I add some sesame seeds 10 mins before they finish cooking and toss them to coat, they add a lovely crunch and nutty flavour to them
