This high Protein Chocolate Mousse is THE simplest, no-bake dessert recipe ever. A delicious, gluten free chocolate mousse made using just 2 ingredients. Whip this healthy dessert recipe up in a matter of minutes!
Sometimes you just need a quick fix for dessert and high protein chocolate mousse is the perfect solution.
It’s only made with 2 ingredients, can be whipped together in five minutes, and is completely gluten free and coeliac-safe.
Plus it’s made with Greek yoghurt giving it an extra boost of protein. A dessert for when you need something that tastes indulgent but is a little healthier.
This chocolate protein mousse is also egg-free – it can be hard to find a chocolate mousse recipe without egg so this is the perfect solution.

Ingredients
You only need two simple ingredients to create this easy, high protein mousse recipe:
- Greek Yoghurt: I like to go for a thick and creamy Greek yoghurt like the FAGE or Yeo Valley ones. Full-fat yoghurt makes a creamier mousse, but a low fat or zero fat Greek yoghurt works fine if you want a lower calorie/fat option.
- Dark Chocolate: The sweeter you want the chocolate mousse, the lower the percentage of cocoa you want. I used the Dr Oetker 54% Dark Chocolate as I wanted a bit of a sweeter chocolate mousse. The Dr Oetker baking chocolates are also gluten free. Be careful as a lot of chocolate has a may contain warning for gluten – but there are plenty of gluten free chocolates out there.
I haven’t tested this recipe with a dairy free or vegan yoghurt so not sure how well it would work. For a vegan alternative, check out my chocolate avocado mousse recipe.
How to make high protein chocolate mousse
There’s a printable recipe card below with the method, but here are some step-by-step photos to show you how easy this gluten free chocolate mousse is to make.
To make this easy high protein chocolate mousse recipe:
Melt the chocolate by breaking it up and placing it in a bowl over a pan of hot (not boiling) water.
Stir occasionally until the chocolate has melted, then remove from the heat and leave for a couple of minutes to cool.
Add the Greek yoghurt to a large mixing bowl and pour in the (cooled) melted chocolate. Use an electric whisk to whip together for 1 minute.
Spoon into bowls and either eat straight away or place in the fridge – it will thicken a little as it cools. I like to top mine with fresh fruit and extra grated chocolate.

You can make this a few hours before serving. However if left too long in the fridge some Greek yoghurts can separate slightly – so I recommend making it fresh.
No, this chocolate mousse cannot be frozen. But it is so quick and easy to make, you can always whip some up in a hurry when you need it!
