This easy Halloween Fudge recipe only needs 3 ingredients, plus all the decorations you desire to make it look spook-tacular! This is a great homemade trick or treat gift idea or Halloween party activity. It’s completely gluten free and super fun to make with kids.

This easy white chocolate fudge is a great alternative to Halloween candy, and all you need is white chocolate, condensed milk and food colouring.

I used purple and green colourings but other combinations – like orange and black – work well too. Get creative topping it with your favourite spook sprinkles and edible eyes!

Ingredients and Substitutions

You only need 3 ingredients to make this Halloween fudge recipe, plus your decorations of choice. But here are some notes on those ingredients and ideas for any substitutions:

  • White Chocolate: Not all white chocolate is gluten free (a lot have a may contain warning) so always make sure you’re using a safe chocolate for this. You could use milk chocolate but this would affect the colourings – it wouldn’t be so vibrant!
  • Condensed Milk: This recipe relies on a can of sweetened condensed milk. I haven’t tried this with vegan chocolate and vegan condensed milk, but imagine you would be able to swap out the two to make this recipe dairy free.
  • Food Colouring: I always recommend a gel food colouring. Sugarflair is my go-to brand as they produce amazing vibrant colours and are gluten free.
  • Decorations: I usually use these Cake Decor Sprinkles which I’ve so far found in Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons. The Cake Decor Edible Eyes are also gluten free and the ones I use every year. Always double check as some brands contain wheat starch. You could also use gluten free Halloween sweets (Coeliac UK publishes a handy list every year) or chocolate chips for decoration.

How to Make Halloween Fudge

There’s a printable recipe card below with the method. But here are some step-by-step photos to show you how easy this Halloween chocolate fudge recipe is to make.

Melt the white chocolate in a saucepan.
Step 1: Add the white chocolate and condensed milk to a saucepan.

Halve the fudge mixture between two bowls and add food colouring.

Decorate with Halloween sprinkles and then chill to set before cutting up.

Storing and Freezing Instructions

TO STORE: This Halloween fudge will keep for ages in the fridge, it is after all, mainly sugar! I’ve been working my way through mine for a few weeks and it’s still going strong, so easy to make in advance for gifts or trick-or-treaters.

TO FREEZE: You could also freeze this fudge then defrost to eat.

Can I add different flavours to this fudge?

Yes, you absolutely could! This recipe is so easy to customise – try adding a few drops of your favourite flavour, like orange or peppermint extracts. You could even combine two different flavours for each colour.

Ingredients 

  • 397 g tin sweetened condensed milk
  • 400 g white chocolate
  • Halloween sprinkles, (ensure gluten free)
  • Edible Eyes
  • Food colouring, (I used green and purple – but orange and black also looks fab!)

Instructions 

  • Place a large pan on a low heat. Break the white chocolate into chunks and add to the pan along with the condensed milk.
  • Keep the pan on the low heat, stirring regularly, until the chocolate has melted and there are no lumps. Take it straight off the heat – you don't want to overcook or boil the mix.
  • Divide the mixture evenly between two bowls and add the food colouring – I added green to one and purple to the other. Mix well until the colouring is fully combined.
  • Pour the mixture at random into a lined, 20cm square tin and gently swirl with a knife – not too much otherwise you'll mix the colours together!
  • Scatter the Halloween sprinkles and edible eyes over the top of the fudge, then place in the fridge for at least 3-4 hours (ideally overnight) to set.
  • Once the fudge is solid and chilled through, cut into squares – perfect for giving out as gifts or for trick or treaters!

  • Serving: If you prefer, you can pour the fudge into a lined loaf tin and cut it into slices instead. It’s give you more of a marble effect, but less sprinkles per slice!
