Gluten Free Advent Calendars (2023)

It’s always exciting picking out your advent calendar and when it comes to gluten free advent calendars there is plenty of choice. Including dairy free and vegan advent calendar options too!

I always tend to go for a really simple gluten free advent calendar because I like to keep things super simple.

In fact usually, let’s be honest, I tend to sweep the shelf on December 2nd to see what’s in the reduced section because I typically forget what date it is.

But whether you want a quick sweet fix, luxury chocolates or even a CHEESE-based calendar (the dream!) there are plenty of free from options.

Plus the choice of gluten and dairy free advent calendars in the UK seems to be expanding more and more every year.

I’ve swept the supermarket shelves of Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose as well as Amazon to find all the best gluten free advent calendars.

This list is by no means inclusive but contains as many advent calendars as I could find and will hopefully provide a good starting point.

Are advent calendars gluten free?

It can be really easy to only check the free from aisle for gluten free advent calendars when actually, many mainstream brands are gluten free.

If you’re not avoiding dairy, many ‘normal’ advent calendars in the seasonal aisle are free from gluten-containing ingredients anyway.

First you’ll need to check the ingredients list to make sure no gluten-containing grains such as wheat or barley are highlighted in bold.

Then you’ll need to check for ‘may contain’ warnings to make sure there’s no risk of cross contamination during the manufacturing process.
