Cosy Season is upon us and there’s nothing that makes me happier than getting stuck into some gluten free autumn baking on a crisp morning. The smell of warming spices, the seasonal apples, the vibrant pumpkin – I just absolutely LOVE it!

Being on a gluten free diet does not mean you should miss out on any of the fun, which is why I’ve got a collection of my favourite gluten free autumn bakes for you to live out your Gilmore Girls dream. Or something like that anyway.

I’ve included both my favourite sweet and savoury bakes (because let’s face it, golden savoury pies, fresh bread and flaky sausage rolls deserve a spot here too!) so you can pick and choose the recipes you want to make. All without the gluten!

The Best Autumn Bakes – Minus The Gluten!

I have lots of tasty gluten free bakes on the blog, but these are the ones that are loved the most by my readers! From cakes and cookies to desserts, there’s something for everyone.

1. Gluten Free Dorset Apple Cake

A slice of gluten free apple cake.

There’s a reason this Gluten Free Dorset Apple Cake is always one of the most popular recipes on my blog in Fall!

It’s a classic British bake, with tart chunks of apple and a sweet and crunchy sugar topping. Plus you can enjoy it warm with custard as an autumn dessert, or have a slice cold with a cup of tea.

“It was lovely – very moist and great flavour.” says Justine, who gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

2. Gluten Free Pumpkin Donuts

Nothing says autumn like pumpkin spice, and these Gluten Free Pumpkin Donuts are one of my favourite PSL-inspired bakes.

They are SO easy to make and ready in under 30 minutes, using pumpkin puree instead of egg and gluten free oat milk in the batter, – so they’re actually accidentally vegan too. Perfect for everyone to enjoy!

“Thank you for this fantastic recipe. My family love these doughnuts,” says Katrina.

3. Gingerbread and White Chocolate Cookies

Gluten free white chocolate and gingerbread cookies.

I made these Ginger and White Chocolate Cookies as a dupe for the viral M&S ones, which always land in the shops around September-time.

They are deliciously chewy and packed with warming ginger spice.

Maria gave these ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and said: “Super super scrumptious. my non gf husband who usually turns up his nose at all sorts of baked goods could not stop scoffing these down.”

4. Gluten Free Apple Turnovers

A tray full of gluten free apple turnovers.

These Gluten Free Apple Turnovers are such a delicious treat, which you can whip up quickly with store-bought gluten free puff pastry.

Though I recommend making your own puff pastry for a next-level turnover!

“Made these twice now already (using justrol pastry made 6 small ones), the recipe is great and they are delicious! Now I don’t have to miss out on my favourite treat,” wrote Amy, who left ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

5. Gluten Free Pumpkin Bread

My easy, Gluten Free Pumpkin Bread is the perfect treat to bake up for a lunchbox treat or afternoon snack.

It’s warmly spiced, so easy to make, and you can even freeze leftover slices to enjoy at a later date! If you’re a fan of recipes like banana bread, give it a go for sure!

Joanna made it and commented: “Great flavour and super easy to make – I will definitely bake it again.”

6. Gluten Free Apple Muffins

These warming, delicately spiced Gluten Free Apple Muffins will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

They have soft chunks of apple, and a gluten free crumble top, making them the perfect treat for lunchboxes or breakfast on-the-go.

Liz left a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review and wrote: “These worked really well and tasted great. You definitely wouldn’t know they were gluten free.”

7. Gluten Free Pumpkin Pie

I think a Gluten Free Pumpkin Pie is actually just the epitome of Fall! It’s so easy to make using my homemade gluten free shortcrust pastry and a warmly spiced filling.

Pumpkin Pie is not such a big thing here in the UK but honestly, I don’t know why – it always brings so much joy to the table!

Deborah made this and wrote: “This year I made your recipe and it was perfect! Very flaky and buttery! Thanks so much!”

8. Gluten Free Apple Upside-Down Cake

This Gluten Free Apple Upside-Down Cake kind of came about as a happy accident, but it’s the perfect autumn dessert! It’s fantastic warm with custard or ice-cream for a little treat.

Laurie wrote: “The texture of *this cake* was just perfect. It was moist with such a nice crumb. My mum adored it so much that she woke up the next day and wanted it immediately for breakfast, too. She is already requesting it again!”

9. Gluten Free Pumpkin Spice Latte Cake

Topped with crunchy pecan nuts and a cream cheese frosting, this Gluten Free Pumpkin Spice Latte Cake is always super popular on the blog during autumn!

The pumpkin sponge is mildly spiced and so soft and fluffy, and the whole cake is just a celebration of the PSL trend that seems to have inspired so much Fall baking.

I’ve even had people send me photos turning this into cupcakes too!

10. Gluten Free Bread Pudding

Does anything say ‘cosy comfort’ like a slice of squidgy, delicious Gluten Free Bread Pudding?

With lots of fruit, warming spices, a squidgy middle and a crunchy sugar top this is just the epitome of comfort food for me. Just like I used to have from the bakery pre-coeliac!

Jayne left ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and said: “I am so happy to have this recipe because my mother used to make it and it brought back lovely memories.”

11. Gluten Free Pumpkin Cookies

These Gluten Free Pumpkin Cookies are a delicious soft cookie, packed with pumpkin spice and vibrant pumpkin puree.

I love topping them with this easy cream cheese frosting, but you could easily dip them in chocolate or decorate them how you like. Or eat them plain!

Liz left a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review and wrote: “Love this recipe. Easy to follow and cookies taste great.”

12. Gluten Free Apple Crumble

Is it even autumn if you haven’t made a Gluten Free Apple Crumble yet? This is just THE cosiest Fall dessert and it is ridiculously easy to make too.

And you guys love it too – this recipe has dozens of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews! Marilyn said: “Absolutely delicious crumble Sarah, easy recipe and your right about using the dark brown sugar,” while Charlotte made this and commented: “This gluten-free crumble can’t be beaten.”

13. Gluten Free Cinnamon Rolls

14. Gluten Free Parkin

As we get closer to Bonfire Night I love making this Gluten Free Parkin to enjoy with a hot chocolate!

It’s super easy to make and so perfect as the nights get colder. The ginger really warms you right up!

This one is always a hit in the autumn – Mo made it and said: “I made this last weekend. It really does last and tastes wonderful after a few days. Brought back childhood memories of bonfire night.”

15. Gluten Free Pumpkin Roll

This easy Gluten Free Pumpkin Roll is the perfect Fall bake or recipe for an autumnal dessert everyone will love.

The pumpkin sponge is so soft and fluffy and the cream cheese frosting is to DIE for.

Honestly, last time I made this I just kept sneaking little slithers off from the fridge until there was hardly any left! It always gets high praise from the gluten eaters and it’s not as difficult to make as you’d think.

Have you tried this recipe?

I have a huge favour to ask! It’s getting more and more difficult to get my recipes out there to the world – so if you try this and love it, it would mean a HUGE amount if you’d come back and leave a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review and a little comment telling me what you thought! Just 30 seconds of your time would be such a huge support! 💛
