This homemade hot honey is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy! Just 3 ingredients and 15 minutes is all you need for this flavoursome condiment. Use it on fried chicken, pizza, or as a gift!
Pour the honey into a saucepan, add the chilli flakes and stir to mix together. Place on a low heat and bring the honey to a simmer.
Remove the honey from the heat, stir well and leave to stand for 10 minutes. This will let the honey really absorb the chilli flavour! NOTE: For a more intense heat, leave for longer, at least 30 minutes.
Drain the honey through a fine sieve into a clean jar, then add the apple cider vinegar and mix well. Cool to room temperature, seal with a lid and store (see notes below).
Notes
Storage: Once cooled to room temperature, store the honey in a sealed jar for up to 3 months. You can also keep the hot honey in the fridge but its not necessary.
Cup Measurements: This recipe uses a 400g (14oz) jar of honey - if you want this in cups it equates to approximately 1 cup + 3 tbsp.
