These Halloumi Bacon Bites are the perfect pigs in blanket alternative. Great for gluten free Christmas party food or as a festive appetiser - with an oven and air fryer method!
Cut the halloumi cheese into eight sticks - you want to create 8 'sticks', so cut the cheese in half lengthways and then cut each half into four, long rectangles.
Wrap each halloumi piece with a rasher of streaky bacon, winding it around the halloumi piece so it covers as much of it as possible.
To bake in the oven:
Preheat the oven to 200C / Fan 180C / Gas Mark 6. Line a baking tray with some baking paper. Place the halloumi bites on the baking tray and bake for 15 minutes until the bacon becomes crispy.
To air fry:
Follow the instructions above, then place the bacon wrapped halloumi into the air fryer basket with some space between them.
Air fry at 200C (392F) for 15 minutes, turning half way, until the bacon is crispy. Serve hot.
These halloumi wrapped in bacon bites are best served hot. You can keep any leftovers in the fridge and reheat, but they are best fresh.
