I’ll start my September favourites with a confession: I completely forgot to post my August favourites last month, and it’s been such a whirlwind few weeks I have only just realised! So prepare for a BUMPER favourites this month because it’s been a busy eight weeks full of London trips, gluten free product launches, career highs and much, much more.

Without further ado, let’s get stuck in…

New gluten free waffles from Schar

Now, I haven’t had a chance to try these yet (but I have some on the table next to me ready to be heated and scoffed!) but I’m SO ridiculously happy that someone has finally launched some gluten free waffles. They are one of the products I haven’t yet seen on the Free From shelves so I really hope they are good!

Gluten free puff pastry from Asda

Jus Rol has been there, done that – but it was great to finally see a supermarket introducing it’s own ready-to-roll gluten free puff pastry. I used this Asda Free From puff pastry to make a blue cheese, fig and walnut galette and it was incredible! I can’t wait to cook with this some more and bring you some tasty new gluten free puff pastry recipes!

Gluten free organic meat boxes

I was really excited when Graig Farm Organics contacted me to send me their gluten free meat box to try. I really try hard to eat organic where I can and their box, consisting of gluten free burgers and sausages, are all grass fed and organic. The chicken sausages were the best I have ever tasted! The box is normally £27 but I’ve managed to grab a cheeky discount code for anyone who would like to try it! Just enter GLUTENFREE at the checkout! (This is not an affiliate link, purely a discount code just for my blog readers!)

Gluten free doughnuts from Tesco

I think the internet went into meltdown when people discovered these gluten free ring doughnuts from Tesco! Found in the frozen free from section, you can buy these bags of sugar-coated ring doughnuts and they’re delicious! They come in packs of six, so perfect for sharing – or not!

New gluten free cakes from Mr Kipling

gluten free mr kipling slices

Every coeliac was excited when Mr Kipling launched their first lot of gluten free cakes earlier this year, and it seems this month they’ve snuck a few newbies onto the shevles! Gluten free Mr Kipling country slices, almond slices and chocolate brownie slices all appeared in Tesco, sparking another wave of Mr Kipling-inspired excitement. I’m still hoping for a battenberg, but it’s great to see them launching more new products.

Gluten and dairy free chocolate gateau from Tesco

Another new product this month in Tesco’s free from frozen aisle was this gluten and dairy free chocolate gateau. I haven’t tried it yet but I was really impressed by the fact it was dairy free too. I sometimes feel lucky being gluten free, because it seems there is much more awareness around gluten nowadays than around dairy. So for dairy-free peeps to be able to enjoy this chocolate gateau must be amazing news!

Entering a protein Bake Off!

gluten free protein doughnuts

I was excited this year to be asked to enter a protein Bake Off with the brand Multipower. I had to come up with a recipe and am now competing against nine other awesome health bloggers to win the grand prize! I made these protein marble doughnuts and I’d love it if you could give me a cheeky lil’ vote here – you can grab the recipe and you’ll even get a lovely discount off their protein when you do vote!

Visiting Facebook HQ

facebook office london

I was really lucky to be invited to Facebook’s office in London for a journalism seminar during September. I was excited enough to visit and learn some new social media tips, but even more excited to meet the lovely Kim who I feel like I’ve been (online) friends with for years! She gave me a tour and it was lovely to meet another coeliac friend – definitely check out her blog if you’re interested in health and fitness!

Cooking with Lesley Water for Tesco Lactose Free

Tesco Lactose Free Cookery Masterclass

I’ve been to London on a couple of occasions this month but the highlight was probably attending this brilliant bloggers event with Lesley Waters to celebrate the Tesco Lactose Free range. I met some great bloggers and we learnt to make some really simple but tasty gluten free recipes with the lactose free products. You can read about my full experience here.

Meeting Paxman and Vine, aka ‘the Jeremys’

A bit off piste, but I couldn’t close my September favourites without mentioning the fact I was lucky enough to meet Jeremy Paxman and Jeremy Vine (and squish between them on a very small sofa) at Appledore Book Festival. I was completely star-struck and unprepared to interview them (I had been told previously it wouldn’t be possible!) but it was fantastic to chat with them and then watch them in conversation on the stage. I still can’t quite believe I managed to meet them but a big thank-you to them both for being total gents and entertaining me with a picture! A fabulous end to a wonderful festival which champions the importance of literature.

What have been your favourites?

Phew, I think that’s everything, though I’ve probably missed something off the list! Not to mention taking awesome walks at the Valley of the Rocks in Lynton, scoffing my face with gluten free pizza and working on some fantastic new gluten free recipes for you guys!

Don’t forget to check out some of the recipes I’ve been working on this month too, like my autumnal granola cake and my gluten free French toast! What have been your favourite gluten free finds this month?
