My, my March, what a month of foodie delights you have been! I love how many new gluten free brands I am discovering each month, and this month has been no different. From gluten free noodles to protein-packed treats, I have tried some amazing free from products this month.

It’s also been a very busy month with the redesign of my blog. You’ve all been incredibly supporting and all the positive comments have been amazing! Here’s  a run down of some of my March favourites…

Mallow and Marsh goodies

I was lucky enough to win a Twitter competition with Mallow and Marsh, and they sent me some of their lovely gluten free marshmallow bars. I was sent the coconut marshmallow bar, the vanilla marshmallow bar and the raspberry marshmallow bar. The raspberry was my favourite, I loved the vibrant pink colour beneath the dark chocolate! These were so delicious and a great, reasonably low calorie snack. I also enjoyed their marshmallow bites, which they have just launched into Sainsbury’s – I like mine piled high in a mug of steaming hot chocolate, delicious!!

Gluten free Lucky Charms

Gluten free Lucky Charms

You might have seen these gluten free Lucky Charms in my latest post, What I Eat In A Day. I don’t often eat gluten free cereals but these were just too good to resist. Normally it’s hard to find gluten free cereals which are ‘fun’ – something I want to eat something naughty and full of sugar and colouring and all sorts, rather than a sugar free, grain free, fun free granola. I found these in Poundland, but I have also seen them in the American food sections in Tesco and Sainsbury’s. Worth a try, but prepare for a sugar rush!

Gluten free freakshakes at Tooters, Barnstaple

Speaking of sugar, nothing was more sugary than the amazing, gluten free Easter freakshake I had at Tooters Diner in Barnstaple. One of the perks of my job is definitely when it involves food, and as a local journalist, I feel it is my duty to take on local eating challenges, right? This freakshake was incredibly sweet and contained God knows how many calories, but it was certainly an experience. Get down there and try one if you can – it’s worth it! Read how I got on in the challenge here.

Gluten free noodles from Mr Lee’s

When Mr Lee’s Noodles contacted me about trying their gluten free noodles, I was pretty excited. Gluten free noodles are hard to come by and I’ve been dying to find an alternative to Pot Noodles. These come in a large range of flavours, ranging from the milder Chicken Laksa or Tai Chi Chicken to the spicy Warrior Shrimp. I’m currently working my way through the different flavours but really enjoying them so far – it’s nice to have recognisable pieces of chicken and veg that looks like veg – all I remember from Pot Noodles is flecks of colour which I think were supposed to be veg!?

Muscle Moose protein mug cakes and pancakes

Now this is very exciting! This month Muscle Moose launched two brand new products – protein mug cake mix and protein pancake mix – and they are both gluten free! I already love their original product – for those that haven’t tried it, Muscle Moose is a protein mousse which tastes amazing and is a great, macro-friendly way to curb sugar cravings. These products are EVEN BETTER – they take seconds (literally) to make in the microwave and they are so delicious. The mug cake mix is nearly gone already!

My new blog look!

How could I mention March without taking about my blog’s new look? I’ve been so overwhelmed by the amazing feedback from everyone – thanks so much again to Twisty Focus for the photoshoot and Charley’s Angels for the makeup! And of course to everyone of you for your kind words! Read more about my blog’s new look and watch a behind the scenes video here.
