If there’s one thing which finishes off any meal, it’s my gluten free garlic bread recipe.

I’d happily eat gluten free garlic bread on the side of every single meal if I could, it’s just so addictive!

And this gluten free garlic bread recipe is SO easy to make, you’d almost be crazy not to.

You can throw it together while your dinner is cooking and then serve it up as the perfect gluten free side dish.

An easy gluten free garlic bread recipe

Gluten free garlic bread is honestly just the best side dish ever!

It’s perfect with gluten free pasta or a pasta bake, or even on the side of a risotto.

I think it works particularly well with extra saucy dishes, so you can use the gluten free garlic bread to mop your plate once you’ve eaten.

You can make as much or as little as you like too.

I usually bake 2 pieces of gluten free garlic bread per person but honestly, I could probably eat about 12!

There’s something about the crunchy bread and oozy, melted butter that I just cannot get enough of.

What sort of gluten free bread can you use?

The best thing about this simple garlic bread recipe is that you can use any kind of gluten free bread.

If you want to make the whole thing from scratch, this works really well with my soft gluten free bread rolls.

I always find this works really well to use up any gluten free bread rolls which are past their best.

For the gluten free garlic bread pictured, I used the Juvela white gluten free bread rolls.

Any gluten free roll from the free from aisle would work perfectly, and you can also make this with sliced bread.

This easy garlic bread recipe works just as well if you spread the garlic butter on slices of any gluten free bread.

It’s honestly completely up to you – I just tend to use whichever gluten free bread I have available at the time.

How to make this easy garlic bread

To make this easy recipe you only need a few ingredients.

There’s a full recipe card below (which is also printable) but for the shopping list you’ll need:

  • Gluten free bread rolls
  • Butter
  • Garlic cloves
  • Dried parsley
  • Sea salt flakes

As explained above, using any kind of gluten free bread roll will work, so you can just pick your favourite bread.

I used unsalted butter for this recipe as I like to add the extra sea salt flakes for texture and taste.

You can use fresh garlic cloves and just peel and finely chop them, or even use the frozen chopped garlic you can find it most supermarkets.

I use dried parsley in my garlic bread as it doesn’t have a strong taste and it makes the bread look more appealing.

But you could use any herb you like, or even add more to make it a herby garlic bread instead.

Making gluten and dairy free garlic bread

If you want to make this a gluten and dairy free garlic bread recipe, it’s super easy!

All you need to do is simple swap the butter for a dairy free alternative.

You could use a dairy free margarine or even olive oil instead if you prefer.

The olive oil would make the bread go super crispy and crunchy too, which would be amazing.

As long as you have those garlicky flavours, you could make this gluten and dairy free garlic bread and enjoy it just as much.

Can I make this garlic bread ahead?

The great thing about this gluten free garlic bread recipe is that you can make it ahead of time.

I tend to chuck it in the oven while my gluten free pasta is cooking but it will keep in the fridge for a day if you want to make it the day before.

Simply refresh in the oven to crisp it up before serving.

You can also freeze this recipe and defrost then bake when you need it.

But personally I think this garlic bread is best made fresh when you want to serve it, ready for everyone to enjoy.

I find it’s a great way to use up any bread which is starting to go stale.

Once it’s gone in the oven you won’t even realise it wasn’t super fresh before you baked it!
