I used to regularly run round-ups of all the new gluten free goodies I discovered on my almost daily trips to the supermarkets, but lockdown has certainly changed that.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve only been to the supermarket once in the last six months!

Instead of spending time browsing the aisles, seeing what new finds I stumble across, I do a hurried click-and-collect shop once a week and often don’t bother looking around the virtual aisles.

But this week I’ve been back to reality a little, with a couple of essential trips to the supermarket and town centre, and I’ve got a whole host of new gluten free treats to share with you!

I don’t think there have been many product launches during the pandemic but it is nice to see some new items appearing on the shelves.

So, because it’s been too long, here’s another round-up of all the gluten free discoveries I’ve made this last week or two!

And if you love these posts, don’t forget to sign up to my Gluten Free 101 weekly newsletter, where I share a smaller round–up of any new products every Sunday!

This week I’ve discovered a whole host of gluten free goodies. And here they are!

Costa Coffee Mushroom and Butternut Squash Risottos

Costa launched its new autumn menu this week and there are a few gluten free bits, though no sandwiches still!

These mushroom and butternut squash risottos sound lovely.

The mushroom one contains milk but the butternut squash one is vegan too.

Costa Coffee Jammy Flapjack

new gluten free products sep 2020

Another new addition at Costa Coffee was this new jammy flapjack which is found with the pre-wrapped cakes.

It’s marked (on the back) as gluten free and vegan and is a flapjack with an apple and raspberry jam layer, topped with a seeded crumble.

It’s a great addition to the gluten free cakes in Costa – which seems to have more than most other chain coffee shops.

Allison’s Gluten Free Flours

I don’t know if these are new but I certainly have never seen them before!

I spotted these two Allison’s gluten free flour blends in the free from aisle in Morrisons.

One is a teff blend and the other is buckwheat – I’m looking forward to grabbing some to try out, especially the teff one as I haven’t used this before!

Galaxy gluten free cake

galaxy gluten free celebration cake

I actually did a paid ad with Galaxy on the launch of this cake, but I’m including it in this round-up because it’s a super exciting new product and it’s so yummy!

The new gluten free celebration cake is deliciously chocolately and can be found in Sainsbury’s.

It’s so great to see a big brand launching a gluten free product like this and I’d definitely recommend you give it a try.

Gü Salted Caramel Cheesecake

new gluten free products sep 2020

I’ve seen this doing the rounds on social media and it was good to find this gluten free and vegan cheesecake in Morrisons’ chilled free from aisle.

It sounds incredible – all of the Gü free from range is so delicious and I’m confident this will be too!

Gü dark chocolate and salted caramel mousses

new gluten free products sep 2020

These Gü dark chocolate and salted caramel mousses aren’t part of the free from range but they are gluten free.

The ingredients show no gluten (but they do contain dairy) and they sound delicious.

I found these in Co-Op and I can’t wait to try them.

Gro gluten free and vegan Katsu Curry

new gluten free products sep 2020

I heard about this new GRO range in Co-Op before lockdown but was very happy to finally find it one of my local shops.

The breadcrumbed pea protein bites are actually gluten free and it comes with a tasty katsu sauce as well.

GRO gluten free and vegan sticky toffee pudding

new gluten free products sep 2020

This GRO vegan sticky toffee pudding in Co-Op sounds delicious and it’s marked gluten free too.

I’ve heard it’s pretty tasty so I’m looking forward to testing it out – it’s always good to find more vegan foods which are gluten free too.

KitKat Christmas Breaks

I haven’t found these myself yet but it looks like KitKat has released a Santa version of the gluten free Easter bunnies it brought out this year!

Although KitKats aren’t gluten free, the wafer bits in these are so they’re definitely one to look out for!

New gluten free pies from Asda

new gluten free products sep 2020

I tried this gluten free chicken and chorizo pie from Asda the other week and it was delicious!

It doesn’t have a pie top but it has a lovely, creamy sauce with peppers in – it was a good staple to have in the freezer.

As well as this, Asda has also launched a Vegan Mushroom and Leek Pie and a Cauliflower Cheese and Stilton Tart which are both gluten free.

These both sound delicious and I’ve heard good feedback from them – it’s nice to have both a vegetarian and a vegan option.

I’ll definitely keep you posted if I try these – will have to add them to my next click-and-collect.

M&S Milk & Cookies Chocolate Spread

new gluten free products sep 2020

I don’t actually think this M&S milk and cookies chocolate spread is new, but it’s certainly the first time I’ve ever found it in my local store.

It’s filled with gluten free cookie pieces and it just sounds insanely good!

  1. Not adding anything yet but our M&S haven’t had gf quiche, savoury pies or steamed sponge or apple pies since lockdown so a reduction in choice

    1. That’s been my experience in ASDA and Tesco as well – items appear to have been squeezed out of the GF Ranges – leaving us with less choice than before Covid-19.

I’ve tried the ASDA Leek and Mushroom Pie and it was very tasty – but I thought it was very expensive, for what it was.

  2. Was in Morrisons Bridlington on Saturday and saw the Allinsons Teff blend flour….and was both delighted to see it…..and horrified it was with the wheated stuff…..(Ok you cant have everything in this life…) KIt Kat Santas?? Its only early September….Have fun all and stay safe…
